MY LOVE STORY
My Love story ....❤️❤️❤️
Friday was a day to remember for life, Mrs Ojo famously known as Mama Sade opened her restaurant known as ‘buka’ at their time located in the bubbly Marina area of Lagos state Nigeria and declared free drinks for everyone who came to eat that day.
.
The excitement in the air was electric and contagious. All passerby were beaming with smiles from ear to ear. Chinedu, the handsome fair complexion primary school teacher will always drop by Mama Sade shop for a meal after work and also has his eye on Sade the pretty dark skin 19 year old daughter of Mrs Ojo.
.
The transmitter radio in Mama Sade’s shop was a rallying point for customers to listen to the news from the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and that Memorable Friday was different as there were more guests to eat and enjoy Mama Sade’s free drinks.
.
Chinedu came with his friend Musa a new teacher in same school to enjoy the free drinks of the day, but Chinedu had more on his mind that day.
.
By 10am The national anthem was beamed on the radio as everyone looked forward intently to hear the speech by the newly elected Prime Minister.
.
Sade came to Chinedu’s table to take his order as usual, he couldn’t hear all she was saying as he was visibly smitten by her cool temperament, sweet voice and pretty face. Chinedu got to his knees and declared his love for Sade and asked her to marry him. Unknown to Chinedu Sade had her eyes on him ever since he came to their ‘buka’ in February, 8 months prior. Sade said a resounding yes even before informing her mum. Suddenly there was loud shouting in the background, everyone jumped in excitement as the prime minister declared on the radio Nigeria’s independence from the British on Friday 1st October 1960. The Nigerian flag was hoisted and a newly independent Nigeria was officially declared.
.
Chinedu couldn’t hold his excitement as he lifted Sade, rolled her in the air, putting her down planted a kiss on her forehead. Mama Sade was watching her daughter all the while and smiled in the background from her cubicle in the backside of the buka.
.
Two love stories happened on the 1st October 1960 as Sade said yes to Chinedu and Nigeria gained her independence from the British.
.
The love birds Sade and Chinedu got married in 1963 and lived happily ever after. (Watch out for details on their love story in my future post)
.
Nigeria’s story of independence is one with so many mixed feelings as Nigeria turns 58 years today. Is she truly independent?
.
As we depend heavily on foreign loans in running the economy are we truly independent?
.
As we have higher level of imports than exports are we truly independent?
.
The average young Nigerian believes ‘foreign is better than local’ and can we say we are truly independent?
.
Fellow Nigerians let us join hands in making Nigeria great. Let’s embrace who we are and what we have. Let’s explore and make use of made in Nigeria products. Let’s do our holidays in Nigeria @foshizi_tours has well designed domestic tours for fantastic Locations within Nigeria let’s follow on Instagram and enjoy @foshizi_tours packages.
.
Lastly let’s speak well and pray for Nigeria.
Nigeria will be great and I will be part of making it happen.
.
What will you do?
.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE !!!!!
.
Yours truly
